Die Klinik für Chirurgie des Kantonsspital Aarau veranstaltet wöchentlich eine 1-stündige Fortbildungsveranstaltung am Kantonsspital Aarau. Diese Veranstaltung richtet sich primär an alle Ärzte der Klinik, aber auch Ärzte anderer Kliniken sind willkommen. Die Themen wechseln wöchentlich und sind stets auf die medizinische Behandlung unserer Patienten und den klinischen Betrieb fokussiert. Die Referenten sind meist Ärzte in einer Führungsposition welche am KSA tätig sind oder extern tätige Kollegen. Gelegentlich sind die Referenten aus dem therapeutischen/administrativen Bereich der Klinik wie zum Beispiel Ergotherapie/Physiotherapie/Ernährungsberatung/Qualitätsmanagement/Rechtsdienst/Spitalhygiene etc. .

Das interdisziplinäre Tumorboard ist zentrales Diskussionsforum von Patienten mit malignen oder unklaren Erkrankungen, die einen interdisziplinären Therapieansatz erfordern. Es findet wöchentlich statt. Zwischen 15 und 30 Teilnehmer unter Federführung der Viszeralchirurgie werden in einem Zeitrahmen von etwa einer Stunden etwa 10-15 Fälle besprochen und das weitere Prozedere festgelegt. Sowohl Assistenten als auch Unterassistenten der entsprechend beteiligten Kliniken sind willkommen.

3D planning and PSI for the treatment of osteotomies has become standard. 3D analysis of bone deformations or malunited bones in comparison with the mirrored opposite side or a statistical shape model helps at all to understand the malformation and allows an exact quantification. This is the basis for an optimal operation planning, be it for osteotomies with patient specific instrumentation with cutting, drilling and reposition guides, for a short analysis of a complex distal radius fracture or the best position of an ulnar head prosthesis. Bring your own computer (Windows) with you where the 3D software CASPA will be installed. You will learn the basics of planning an osteotomy: handling 3D bone models, automatic registration, cutting and shifting bone fragments, building up cutting- and reposition guides.

Pfleiderer, Basel) Unter dem Thema Individualisierung in der Viszeralmedizin laden wir Zuweisende und Interessierte am 21. August 2025, ab 18.30 Uhr in das Hotel Hyperion in Basel ein. Personalisierung zielt in der Medizin darauf ab, die Behandlung eines Patienten auf individuelle Merkmale, wie genetische oder molekulare, oder auch auf den Lebensstil abzustimmen. Diese Anpassung der Therapiekonzepte birgt Chancen, gleichzeitig stellen sich damit viele neue Fragen auch zu ethischen Aspekten, die sorgfältig beantwortet werden müssen. Wir werden das Thema von onkologischer (Prof. Dr. Viviane Hess, Basel) und viszeralchirurgischer Seite beleuchten, aber auch einen gastroenterologischen Fokus auf die Behandlung von Patienten mit chronisch entzündlichen Darmerkrankungen legen (Prof. Dr. Petr Hruz). Sie verstehen die Wirkmechanismen physikalischer Hämostatika und wenden blutstillende chirurgische Massnahmen indikationsgerecht an. Die Therapie aller Blutungen, von klein bis gross, wird ebenso behandelt wie das Management hämodynamischer Instabilität und intraoperative Vorgehensweisen. Dabei steht die interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit im Fokus, ausserdem werden systemische Richtlinien zur Optimierung der Gerinnung und deren Umsetzung in der Anästhesie besprochen.

Ce 6ème séminaire sera consacré aux "Tendons-Enthèses-Muscles", des structures essentielles qui représentent un motif fréquent de consultation en pathologie ostéoarticulaire. Conçu comme un rendez-vous multidisciplinaire, regroupant tous les spécialistes utilisant l'imagerie ostéoarticulaire, il a pour objectif de donner aux participants, quelle que soit leur spécialité, les moyens d’interpréter avec précision les examens d’imagerie et de se perfectionner dans la réalisation des échographies musculo-nerveuses. À travers une approche alliant théorie et pratique, ce séminaire leur permettra d’acquérir des compétences approfondies pour une meilleure prise en charge diagnostique et thérapeutique des pathologies affectant ces structures. L’organisation du séminaire reposera sur trois formats d’intervention complémentaires : 1. Exposés conventionnels au pupitre, apportant un éclairage théorique approfondi. 2. Exposés courts avec corrélations anatomiques-IRM-échographie et démonstrations pratiques sur échographe, avec une projection simultanée de schémas anatomiques et d’une échographie live pour illustrer la démarche d’examen, suivis d’une analyse de cas cliniques. 3. Exposés courts avec démonstration pratique suivie d’une session interactive, où les participants prendront eux-mêmes en main la sonde sous supervision, dans une approche immersive « À vous la sonde ». L’organisation du séminaire reposera sur trois formats d’intervention complémentaires : 1. Exposés conventionnels au pupitre, apportant un éclairage théorique approfondi. 2. Exposés courts avec corrélations anatomiques-IRM-échographie et démonstrations pratiques sur échographe, avec une projection simultanée de schémas anatomiques et d’une échographie live pour illustrer la démarche d’examen, suivis d’une analyse de cas cliniques. 3. Exposés courts avec démonstration pratique suivie d’une session interactive, où les participants prendront eux-mêmes en main la sonde sous supervision, dans une approche immersive « À vous la sonde ». Ce format structuré et interactif favorisera l’acquisition de compétences pratiques essentielles en IRM et échographie des tendons, enthèses, muscles et nerfs.

With great pleasure we are looking forward to the upcoming 8TH SWISS HERNIA DAYS, which will take place from the 23—24TH October 2025 in Basel, Switzerland. Looking back to six years of successful SWISS HERNIA DAYS we are constantly trying to improve the congress experience for our participants and industry partners. Therefore, we choose to change the congress venue and started a collaboration with a new congress secretary. The upcoming SWISS HERNIA DAYS will take place in the heart of Switzerland’s «life science center», the famous Novartis campus in Basel. Surrounded by exceptional architecture and the spirit of science and research, we hope to create an even more inspiring congress atmosphere, just as we did in 2024. Again, we managed to invite many renown national and international hernia experts to Switzerland, and it will be a pleasure to hear their opinions, their up-to-date lectures, and discussions. Beside talks, keynote lecture and industry symposia we provide again the famous «champions league» session, a deferred live surgery session and of course the SWISS HERNIA DAYS networking event. The session of the Association of Young Swiss Surgeons (FJC) is integral part of the SWISS HERNIA DAYS now. Again, the FJC will set light on aspects of hernia surgery which are especially important to the young generation, such as education, standard techniques, and career options. For many years now registration for junior surgeons and trainees is free. We also encourage the young generation of surgeons to apply for the video award and the Swiss Hernia Days visiting fellowship. Since 2017 SWISS HERNIA DAYS are not only an established interactive and innovative hernia congress. The congress has evolved to a platform for active learning and practical exercises. Therefore, we will again provide an anatomical cadaver workshop at the anatomical institute of the university of Basel at the 22ND of October 2025. In addition, we will roll out a more sophisticated hands-on robotic hernia workshop during the congress days after a successful pilot in 2023. Durante il corso si trattano, a livello teorico e pratico, argomenti inerenti alla cura chirurgica delle patologie traumatologiche. Il corso tratterà delle basi biologiche e bio- mecchaniche delle guarigioni delle fratture. The AO Trauma Course—Basic Principles of Fracture Management for Swiss Surgeons is part of AO Trauma's educational program for residents and based on a specific framework of competencies and learning objectives. They feature a balanced mix of educational methods with a strong focus on interactive sessions. Online pre-course self-assessment prepares participants for the course and allows the faculty to tailor the course to the needs of participants. Before attending the course, participants are expected to complete the online self-assessment questionnaire. The course consists of evidence-based lectures which cover the key information required. In practical exercises, participants will be trained in the application of various techniques. The AO Skills Lab consists of ten stations where participants will learn the principles of fractures, biomechanics, and test fracture management options. Discussing cases in small groups will help participants to understand decision-making processes and further develop management skills. After the course, an online post-course self-assessment will provide participants with important feedback on how much they have learned.

Debates and interactive sessions promote interaction between faculty and course participants. In practical exercises, participants will be trained in the application of various techniques. At the end of the course, participants will be able to assess and manage complex fractures according to the AO principles. After the course, an online post-course self-assessment will help participants to assess how much they have learned. After the course, the participant will not only have a deeper knowledge of advanced trauma management but also be reconnected to the trauma community in Switzerland.

We’re pushing the boundaries with cutting-edge techniques and technologies that will elevate your surgical skills. Day 1 will cover advanced arthroscopic procedures, including the treatment of instabilities, rotator cuff repairs, and brachial plexus preparations. You’ll gain invaluable insights into the latest arthroscopic techniques and their real-world applications. Day 2 shifts focus to the management of proximal humerus fractures, offering a deep dive into both osteosynthesis and arthroplasty. We will present state-of-the-art surgical approaches and techniques using fresh frozen cadavers in our modern Skills Lab. This course has a clear hands-on focus and will be complemented by small group discussions, allowing you to engage directly with our international faculty. The maximum number of participants is limited to ensure an interactive and personalized learning experience. This trauma course focuses on the surgical treatment of proximal humerus fractures, distal humerus fractures, proximal tibia fractures, and distal tibia/fibula fractures (including pilon fractures). In addition to case discussions and the establishment of a tailored patient treatment plan, hands-on practice in the wet lab and the improvement of personal technical skills lay the foundation of the two-day course. Through the close interaction with our renowned faculty and other course participants, you will gain in-depth insights into current treatment concepts and the latest techniques in surgical fracture care. This year’s course will not only cover open reduction and internal fixation using plate osteosynthesis, but will also include an engaging breakout session focused on managing proximal humerus fractures with reverse total shoulder arthroplasty.
